Who were the first guitarists to turn the guitar into the voice of flamenco?
The silent chair: the six strings that safeguarded flamenco’s golden age.
This tribute of mine to all the names of the toque moves me and seems beautiful to me because, thanks to them, today we can see and hear the tocaores (guitarists) who shine at the Bienal de Flamenco de Sevilla 2026, proving that the school of toque created on the Alameda still beats in every stroke.
The evolution of the toque is a boundless universe, worthy of a flamenco professorship.
On this historical walk I propose, we will follow an invisible trail of those hands that found in the strings of the guitar both a passion and a trade.
I am a cultural manager, and I open my notebook to you.
What you have read here is truly understood when you walk it. Walk the route with me.
