Where did flamenco dance take its first steps?

Around the first half of the 19th century, when Amparo Álvarez, «la Campanera», was beginning to make a name for herself, this neighbourhood was already bustling with academies where bolero and early flamenco lived together under one roof. She trained Otero and Ángel Pericet — the thread that connects the escuela bolera with the birth of flamenco dance.

And that thread reaches me closely: I was a disciple of Spikerman Reino, himself a disciple of Ángel Pericet the grandson. I inherited the Escuela Sevillana of flamenco dance.

It can be walked and truly felt.
